Finding Balance Through Breath & Sound

Yoga by Steph on Healing, Boundaries & the Pillars of Wellness

At Four Truffles, we believe that healing happens in layers. In this first part of our two-part conversation with Stephanie Palomino (@YogaBySteph)—yoga teacher, sound healer, and Four Truffles Ambassador—we explore the roots of her wellness journey, her approach to balance, and how she lives out the 8 Pillars of Wellness.

Getting to Know You

Can you share a bit about your journey into wellness and healing? What inspired you to follow this path?

I always knew I wanted to help heal others. My only exposure to this was through western medicine, so I pursued a nursing degree. I had practiced yoga before—but more for the physical benefits. Once you delve deeper, doors open and curiosity grows. It’s an eye-opening experience when you realize all that yoga truly entails.

What modalities do you specialize in, and what drew you to them?

I’ve been a yoga instructor for about 6 years. I love teaching both vinyasa and yin—they’re so different, which keeps my creativity flowing. I realized my initial 200-hour teacher training was just the beginning, so I’ve continued learning from various instructors. My most recent passion is sound healing, which has grown tremendously for me. Combining sound with yoga has become a beautiful offering I share with my students.

How would you describe your personal philosophy when it comes to wellness and self-care?

Balance and boundaries are everything. As a teacher, I have to remain a student—curious and humble. I have to practice what I teach, and that starts with getting on my own mat. I’ve also learned to say “no” when needed and avoid overloading my schedule. Wellness is a daily practice. It’s being intentional about sleep, hydration, nourishment, movement, and rest.

The Essence of Your Work

What does a session with you typically look like? What can people expect to experience?

Tranquility. That’s the word I’d use to describe a sound bath with me. I carefully weave together different instruments to create a grounded, immersive, healing space.

What do you find most rewarding about your work with clients?

Creating a safe environment where people can release and relax. Surrendering requires vulnerability—and that’s often where the healing begins.

How do you integrate the mind, body, and spirit in your practice?

Sound baths are a full-body, multi-sensory experience. With eyes closed, attendees become more aware of their breath, the sensations of vibration, and the stillness within. That’s where mind, body, and spirit reconnect.

The 8 Pillars of Wellness

Which of the 8 Pillars resonate with you most, and why?

They’re all necessary, so it’s hard to pick just one. They work together. You can’t nourish the body and ignore emotional or spiritual needs—it’s all interconnected.

In today’s fast-paced world, how can people cultivate balance across all 8 pillars?

One day at a time—with grace and patience. Some days will be easier than others. Carve out moments for yourself: maybe a few quiet minutes in your car, morning breathwork, or booking that yoga class. Those small intentional moments add up.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of our interview with Yoga by Steph—where she shares her personal rituals, how she embodies the 8 Pillars in her client  work, and her reflections on community, healing, and what 'home' means in the context of wellness.

Steph Palomino will be leading our Grace & Glory workshop this Saturday, March 29th @ 5pm here at our Four Truffles Wellness Studio
