The Palos Verdes Junior Women’s Club hosted its 52nd annual “Season’s Splendor” Holiday Luncheon and Shopping Boutique on Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Key Juniors In front are Juniors President Susan Rule Sander and Thea Sanderson, vice president of philanthropy. Seated behind them are, at left, Ana Soriano, vice president of the Holiday Luncheon, and Julie Douglass, the corporate sponsorship chair.

The event is one of two fundraisers sponsored by the Juniors each year to raise money for local South Bay philanthropies devoted to helping women and children in crisis. The funds they raise also go to college scholarships awarded by the club to needy local high school seniors.

This season’s event, attended by more than 250 guests, featured more than 40 vendors who offered unique merchandise. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber Choir and the Palos Verdes Ballet provided entertainment.

Susan Rule Sandler, the Juniors president, said she was thrilled with the day.

“Our holiday luncheon Vice President Ana Soriano, and her event Chair Amy Mosher and auction co-Chairs Heidi Brown and Margaret Waite, did an unbelievable job. They made wishes come true … for so many in our South Bay community who need our help,” she added.

Sandler also cited “the generous support of our event sponsors, major donors and our guests at the event. We can continue to offer meaningful financial support to the work of our philanthropies.”

The Juniors next will host its formal Spring Fundraiser, “Shaken Not Stirred,” at Trump National Golf Club on Saturday, March 13.

The Juniors group is open for membership to all women older than 21 residing on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. For information regarding upcoming events or membership, visit the Juniors Web site at www.pvjuniors.org.
