This year was filled with a mixed bag of experiences.  Being a small business comes with many challenges especially for women entrepreneurs however, there’s so much joy in the journey that makes it all worthwhile.  I’ve always said that when you start with good intentions based on the principles of doing good, there’s no way you can fail.  This is where my confidence and joy comes from and draw upon that the possibilities are endless to what we can achieve.  I applaud all the women entrepreneurs out there and encourage those who dream of becoming one to follow their calling.

In looking back, I see and hear the hope from women being touched by what we do.  For many touched by our efforts, no matter what the amount of our financial contribution may be, to them it’s priceless.  Everything counts, even when you just show up to volunteer your time to tell someone they matter and that they are loved.  Most of the time, words and actions have the most impact in changing people’s lives.  This is what gives me and Four Truffles the drive to continue with our mission.  This mission is very much dependent on all of our partners, volunteers and supporters, which include the women cooperatives, every single friend,  family member, customer, the social media community and our retail partners.

Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind…

Go Early – Tuesday and Wednesday are the easiest days to get an appointment, and morning hours are usually less busy than the afternoon.  Also keep in mind that people cancel frequently so it’s a good idea to ask the spa to call you in the event someone cancels their appointment.

Method to your Spa Visit – Yes, getting treatments in the proper order makes a difference!  It should look like this:
- massage, waxing, facial, pedicure and then manicure.
Waxing before getting a massage could result in nasty ingrown hairs because there’s a chance your pores could get clogged.   Once you have a facial and feeling clean and fresh, the last thing you want is to put your face into the cradle for a massage.  Lastly, once your nails are looking pretty you don’t want to get them smudged.
