Body Butter with Argan Oil Proven Perfect for Sensitive Skin
Do you or someone you know have sensitive skin? Who doesn’t, right? So many of us and our families suffer from dry skin, eczema, and/or various other skin sensitivity issues that when we enlisted our award-winning chemist for Four Truffles to formulate our products, we worked hand in hand with him to pay special attention to using ingredients that are safe for sensitive skin and help serve a greater good for the women who harvest them. We figure that if our products work on the most sensitive of skin, like on a baby, then you know it’s safe for everyone else too!
We sent our Four Truffles Body Butterto an independent testing Lab in New Jersey, who tested our product on 48 people and guess what? We passed with flying colors! On a scale of 0 to 6 with 0 being the number if there is absolutely, positively zero evidence of sensitization we scored 48 out of 48! Wooohooo! We are officially “safe for sensitive skin” and “hypoallergenic”!
The test is called a ‘Repeated Insult Patch Test (RIPT)’ where the objective is to determine the irritation and/or allergic contact sensitization potential after repetitive applications to the skin of human subjects (since we don’t believe in animal testing). Our Body Butter was applied in a patch to the back of each subject, a combo of men and women ages 18 – 79, who had to leave it alone for 24 hours. This process was repeated every other day for a total of 9 times in the same exact spot. After two weeks, each of the 48 subjects was patch tested a final time to see if any sensitization had developed. All 48 subjects experienced zero irritation and no one experienced dermatitis of any sort. We are not surprised, since we tested it on over 50 loyal friends and family, including a few babies, before launching but still – it’s so exciting to be official!
