American Girl Fashion Show

We’re so excited to announce that we’re partnering with Glow Face & Body for the upcoming American Girl Fashion Show this weekend Oct. 17th & 18th!  The show will benefit the James Blackstone Memorial Library.

The  American Girl brand as we know it, is a very popular line of dolls that represent different eras in American History.  What makes these dolls extra special is the fact that our children have an opportunity to learn about our rich heritage in a fun way.  In addition to dolls, books about the American Girl are also available and this particular Fashion Show’s purpose is to raise money to benefit the children’s literacy programs of the James Blackstone Memorial Library.

The show will be held this weekend October 17-18 at the Omni New Haven at Yale.  All girls and their friends and families are invited to experience this wonderful and unique event which includes four shows over the two days.  They will showcase historical and contemporary fashions for girls and their dolls.

A casting call was held over the summer and 150 local models were selected to present the fashions this weekend.  This will surely be an exciting event filled with music and decorations to create a memorable experience for girls and their families.  Audience will delight in historical clothing, from day-wear to special-occasion clothing, that resembles what the popular American Girl characters Kaya, Felicity, Josefina, Addy, Kit, Molly and Julie might have worn.   They also announced that the newest American Girl doll, Rebecca Rubin, will join the cast.

The event also includes tea party refreshments, an American Girl Marketplace boutique, a doll hair salon, a raffle, special gifts and prizes.  Tickets are $40 per person and VIP seating available for $50 per person.  Tables of 10 are also available at a discount.  To purchase tickets visit www.uwgnh.org/americangirl or call (203) 488-1441 (ext. 325) for more information.
